iAWOS is developed and maintained by Spree Forty Three. This policy explains what data is collected when you use the app and why.
Data we collect
iAWOS does not collect or store any personal data. Your name, email address, location, and device identifiers are never transmitted to Spree Forty Three.
All preferences (units, theme, favourites, selected airports) are stored locally on your device using iOS standard storage and are never uploaded anywhere.
Third-party services
The app makes network requests to the following services. Each has its own privacy policy.
Weather data
- NOAA Aviation Weather Center (
aviationweather.gov) — METAR data for real-world airports. Requests include the ICAO code you search for. No personal data is sent. - VATSIM (
metar.vatsim.net) — METAR data for VATSIM network airports. - IVAO (
api.ivao.aero) — METAR data for IVAO network airports. Requests include an API key identifying the app, not you personally.
Airport database
- OurAirports (
ourairports.com) — Airport and runway data, fetched periodically to keep the bundled database current. No personal data is sent.
In-app purchases
- RevenueCat — Manages the Supporter subscription and one-time purchase. RevenueCat may collect purchase receipts and anonymised device identifiers to validate entitlements. See RevenueCat’s Privacy Policy.
Feedback
- FeaturesVote — If you choose to submit a feature request or vote on one, FeaturesVote may collect the information you provide (such as an optional name or email). This is entirely opt-in. See FeaturesVote’s Privacy Policy.
Support
- FreeScout — If you contact support via support.iawos.app, your name and email address are collected to respond to your enquiry. This data is stored on a self-hosted server operated by Hetzner Online GmbH in Germany and is not shared with any third parties. You may request deletion at any time by emailing [email protected].
Children’s privacy
iAWOS is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from them.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes materially, the updated version will be posted at iawos.app/privacy with a revised date.
